Top three things to do in Stockholm

  1. Visit Gamla Stan

Gamla Stan is the name for the oldest part of Stockholm and it dates back all the way to the 1200s. The architecture is truly stunning and unique, with intricate details and beautiful colors. Regardless of whether you are a confessed fan of architecture or not, this you cannot miss. Gamla stan is where you will find the soul of Stockholm and it also has lots of charming boutiques, cafés,  hotels in Stockholm, restaurants, and bars, so there is something for everyone.

  1. Get down with the royals

Visit the royal palace and the royal canals. You may not know this, but Stockholm is a city that literally lies in water and it has an archipelago (which you should definitely add to your itinerary if you’re into sailing). The royal palace is conveniently located close to Gamla Stan, so you can make a day of it. It dates back to the 18th century and is the official home of the King of Sweden. Go inside, get down with the royals, and admire the beautiful artwork inside.

  1. Pick a museum of your liking

There are lots of museums in Stockholm, so pick your favourites. What tickles your fancy; Modern art, photography, historic battleship Vasa or the pop band ABBA? There is also a museum dedicated to the history of the Nobel Prize, full of interesting facts about the world’s brightest minds, and an army museum with a wide range of exciting military memorabilia on display
